How the US military conducts a firing squad execution is going to be a bit of a shock to people who grew up in a society where this kind of thing hasn’t happened since the end of WW2.
The last 2 U.S. military executions by firing squad occurred in 1945, Private Eddie Slovik and Private Dan Lee.
People used to the really dumbed down, bleeding heart liberal version of the death penalty, the kind where the Fake News media wonders why there wasn’t any live-saving medical equipment in the death house in TN, are going to be kind of amazed by this.
One of the biggest reasons almost all the states were moved to lethal injection was to complicate the process and provide new avenues for thwarting carrying out of the sentence.
With 10-12 rifles firing 9-12 bullets, all the arguments about this or that drug in which doses are ‘humane’ or ‘effective’ are rendered irrelevant.

Hasan will likely be affixed to the pole, blindfolded already when the squad is marched in, forms its line, the sentence is read, the load, ready, aim, fire, then turn and march out.
From beginning to end, this would happen in less than 2 or 3 minutes.
It is not a pleasant task, but a necessary one.
It is not combat. The guy isn’t trying to kill you. You are the arm of justice, carrying out a sentence, against a man standing there with his hands tied behind him.
Even if you think he deserves it, and for sure, Hasan does, say a prayer the soldiers that get picked for this job. Taking a man’s life is not a small or light thing.— Brian Cates – Political Columnist & Pundit (@drawandstrike) October 8, 2026
