Quicksand was all over the place in the 60s when I was a kid.
Many of the slower kids, the dullards were lost to the ‘sand.
We considered it a form of natural selection back then and
the 60s being a very competitive time, felt it only made us stronger.

We didn’t think much about it until Global Warming came
along and dried up all the quicksand – and as a consequence
destroyed an ages old form of natural selection that only
made us stronger, quicker and much more attuned to potential
threats in our immediate environment…
