Blessed Are The Tool Builders.
I’ve used VI and then VIM for the past 30+ years.
There has not been more than 3 days in a row I have
not used this editor to this day.
To a developer the editor is the base tool, like a hammer
in construction, chainsaw for a lumberjack, etc, etc.
Countless developers have earned good livings
utilizing this tool to write countless lines of code.
Bram Moolenaar, an open source advocate, gave the code away
for free, with a suggested donation to starving kids in Uganda.
The amount of production this tool generated over
time is hard to comprehend.
Thank you, Mr. Moolenaar for a tool instrumental to
many careers and a great piece of software.
