El Kaiman Western Wear sold clothing and wired money abroad. 179,874 transfers between January 2018 and this July. I did the math. That’s one wire every 25 minutes, around the clock, for eight and a half years.
The owner is Esteban Peralta Fragozo, 50, a Mexican national in this country illegally. He admitted that himself.
The feds ran undercover operations through that store with an informant. He was told the cash came from drug trafficking. He wired it anyway, under false sender names and fake IDs.
A traffic stop turned up 72 pounds of methamphetamine. With it, wire receipts from El Kaiman.

Federal agents searched his home, his car and his store on Wednesday. A Ruger 9mm, ammunition, bulk cash. A federal magistrate in Eugene ordered him held. Next hearing November 17.
