And you’d be wrong.
Democrat Senator Ron Wyden claims to represent Oregon but lives 3-thousand miles away in New York.
Wyden’s wife inherited tens of millions of dollars and a New York bookstore chain started by her granddad.
When the pandemic hit, Nancy Bass Wyden lined up at the public trough to gobble up a million-dollar-plus loan.
PPP loans were supposed to save American jobs.
But the Senator’s wife Pink slipped almost all of her more than 200 employees. With the loan in hand, she brought 30 workers back…but a few weeks later, laid off half of them.
She never paid the PPP loan back, but she did make a six-figure investment in Amazon stock.
When Congress offered a second dip into the PPP loan pool, it banned Senators and their families from getting the money.
Nancy Bass Wyden now pleads ignorance of the law, even though she sleeps with the guy who wrote it. (Senator Wyden was, at the time, a senior member of the Senate finance committee.)
So, six years after they illegally took almost a million taxpayer bucks, all Wyden and wife have to do is pay the money back and a tiny fine.
Crime pays, at least for democrats.
